Parma has some of the best bars and restaurants around Cleveland. In an effort to recognize them, we’re choosing to feature one a month. This month is JB’s Tavern on Brookpark Road. We caught up with owners Chris and Mandy Barney to learn more about the restaurant.

How did you come to own JB’s?

We purchased the bar in July of 2020. It was always a dream of ours and Chris’s best friend Jeff to own a bar together. Jeff, unfortunately, passed away in 2018 before we were able to make it happen. So when I got the opportunity, we bought it and named it after him. Read more of our story here.

What’s your favorite menu item?

We are a shot and beer type of bar, however we do serve to-go “adult” Capri Suns in various flavors!

What else are you known for?
We are an Ohio State themed bar, with all scarlet and gray. We host many pool and dart teams and have completely remolded the front part of the bar.

What are your specials/happy hour?
Power Hour is 11am to 1pm with $1 domestic bottles. Happy hour continues until 6pm on weekdays.

Why did you choose to be in the Parma area?
We relocated to Parma in 2003. We have invested highly into the area and feel it is a great place to raise our kids. It is a total midwest, hard-working, blue collar town. It has always fitted us well.
